Commercial Estimator/Engineer – Direct Hire | West Salem, WI

We’re hiring a Commercial Estimator/Engineer for a full-time, direct hire opportunity in West Salem, Wisconsin. This position is ideal for someone with AutoCAD experience, a strong eye for detail, and a passion for construction estimating and design engineering.

What You’ll Do

• Review blueprints, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate quotes, bids, and takeoffs

• Create and modify detailed cabinet drawings and shop drawings using AutoCAD

• Collaborate with general contractors and project managers to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery

• Conduct field verification (approximately 10% travel throughout WI/MN/IA – company vehicle provided)

• Identify bid opportunities through exchanges and referrals

• Maintain strong communication and follow-up with clients to support long-term relationships

Schedule & Pay

• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–4:30 PM | Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

• Base Pay: $70,000 annually + Commission (paid monthly)

• Pay Cycle: Weekly

What We’re Looking For

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (daily use required)

• Ability to read blueprints to scale and perform precise measurements and takeoffs

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills (fractions, decimals, conversions)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (quoting and estimating system)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Valid driver’s license with a reasonable driving record

• Education: High School Diploma required; college coursework preferred in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, Interior Design, or 

Business

• Experience: 2–5+ years in construction estimating, manufacturing design, or engineering drafting preferred
